Love languages, in most cultural frameworks, assume that love is primarily communicated through words or actions. Finland offers a third option: being in the same room and saying nothing in a way that is entirely comfortable. The Finnish version of intimacy is not performed. It is the ability to sit in silence with someone without either party feeling the need to improve upon it. This is a form of trust expressed through quiet.

The shirt names it directly. For anyone who has experienced that particular Finnish quality of companionship and recognised it as exactly that.

Unisex fit, true to size. 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (heather colours contain polyester). Fabric weight 4.2 oz/yd². Pre-shrunk, side-seamed, with shoulder-to-shoulder taping.

Very Finnish Problems is run by Joel Willans, a British writer who moved to Finland over twenty years ago and never quite got around to leaving. Every design comes out of real Finnish life he's had with his Finnish wife, Anna and their kids, and a community of more than 1.3 million people who know exactly what no niin means.
