More Finnish problems

What people buy alongside this one.

When the rest of the world was told to stand two metres apart, Finland asked whether it could be four, as usual. The Finnish bus stop queue was famous long before 2020, a row of people spaced like fence posts, each one facing forward, none of them touching, all of them fine. This was not a public health measure. It was a bus stop.

For the person who never once found the rules difficult, because the rules were simply a description of how they already stood.

Shipping and returns

We ship to over 50 countries including the US, Canada, UK, Australia and across Europe, and shipping is always free worldwide.

Most orders arrive within 5 to 10 business days, and you will receive a tracking link as soon as your order ships.

We offer a 30 day returns policy, so if the fit is not right you can get in touch and we will sort it out.

Care and materials

Machine wash it cold and inside out, then tumble dry low or hang it to dry, which keeps the print sharp for longer.

The design is printed straight into the fabric using DTG, so it stays soft and will not crack, peel or fade the way a pressed on transfer does. The blanks are OEKO-TEX certified, which means they are tested free from harmful substances and safe against your skin. Every item is printed to order in small numbers rather than mass produced and left in a warehouse.

About Very Finnish Problems

VFP was started by British author Joel Willans, who met his Finnish wife in London and moved with her to Helsinki in 2002. Over the next two decades his observations of Finnish life grew into a community of 1.3 million people worldwide. Every design is inspired by real Finnish life and created by Joel and his team in Helsinki. Joel is also the author of the Very Finnish Problems books, written after many years of living in Finland and still not fully understanding it.

Designed in Helsinki by someone who actually lives here

Very Finnish Problems is run by Joel Willans, a British writer who moved to Finland over twenty years ago and never quite got around to leaving. Every design comes out of real Finnish life he's had with his Finnish wife, Anna and their kids, and a community of more than 1.3 million people who know exactly what no niin means.
